Buxus NewGen® Freedom™ is commonly referred to as NewGen® Freedom™ Boxwood. It was selected for its high resistance to Boxwood Blight and Boxwood Leafminer. This vigorous variety is deer resistant and a fast grower, growing about 3-6 inches per year. It features glossy, medium green foliage with a rounded habit. It is slightly taller than wide and is tighter than Buxus 'Wintergreen or 'Winter Gem'.
NewGen® Freedom™ Boxwood thrives in full to partial sun in average, well-drained soils. Annual pruning may be necessary to keep its compact shape and style.
